Allergen Info: What We Use, What We Don’t, and How We Keep Things Clean
We’re all about transparency—especially when it comes to ingredients and allergens. Here’s the lowdown on what’s in our jars, what’s not, and what happens behind the scenes on production day.
🥜 What We Use
Our nut butters are made from blends of tree nuts, including:
-
Almonds
-
Cashews
-
Pecans
-
Walnuts
We also use a few minimally processed add-ins including, but not limited to:
-
Vermont maple sugar
-
Cacao nibs & cacao powder
-
Vanilla bean
-
Coffee
-
Sea salt
That’s it. No palm oil. No dairy. No gluten. No weird stuff.
🚫 What We Don’t Use
We don’t use peanuts in any of our recipes. No peanut oil, no peanut flour, nothing like that. But—and this is important…
⚠️ Our Facility Does Process Peanuts
We make our nut butters in a shared kitchen that also processes peanuts, and the top 9 allergens.
That’s why our labels include the statement:
“Manufactured in a facility that processes: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, sesame.”
This is a cross-contact warning, not an ingredient disclosure.
We get it—if you have an allergy (or are shopping for someone who does), this matters.
🧼 How We Limit Cross-Contact Risk
We take our process seriously. Here’s how we keep things as clean as possible:
-
We only produce when the kitchen is reserved exclusively for us.
No other businesses are working while we’re there. -
Before production starts, we inspect, wash, sanitize, and dry every surface and piece of equipment.
-
After production, we clean again so the space is spotless for whoever comes next.
-
Every production run is personally supervised.
We don't outsource production. Every nut butter run is done in-house.
💬 If You Have a Peanut Allergy
Everyone’s risk tolerance is different—and only you (or your healthcare provider) can make that call. We’ll always give you the facts so you can decide for yourself.
